Meg ‘don’t call me peg leg’ Fisher

Filed under: People — Jerek @ 7:21 pm

The first thing you notice about Meg fisher is her prosthetic leg. Once you get to know her you will forget about it. Meg competes in triathlons and adventure races. As a grad student at the University of Montana she teaches tennis and anatomy which she “loves.” Although she has a disability you would be dumb if you called her disabled after playing her in tennis.

I met Meg because I am in her tennis class at the U she has an incredibly up beat attitude and her passion for tennis is evident in her teaching. She truly is a very interesting person.

Here are three pictures of Meg from tennis class.

The 1/3 Blue Man Group

Filed under: People — Jerek @ 9:15 pm

The Political season is in full swing and Montana is no different (well maybe just a little.) The Gubernatorial race is a three man affair. Democratic incumbent Brian Schweitzer debated Republican Roy Brown and Libertarian Stan Jones Monday night in the Montana Theater at The University of Montana. The majority debate covered energy, economy, and education. The three duked it out for about an hour to the near capacity crowd.

The one strange thing wasn’t the tone of the conversation but the tone of Stan Jones’ skin. Jones has for years taken Colloidal Silver which is thought to kill some bacteria, the results of the intake is a condition called argyria which results in a blue pigment to the skin.

I have been hired to work for montanagrizzlies.com for this year. So I get paid to have on field passes and court side seats for all football and basketball games how crazy is that. I love getting paid to take pictures. Check out montanagrizzlies.com to see more pictures from the game and more to come.

Here are two images from the first Griz game Marc Mariani (80) scored four touchdowns in Saturday’s game to tie the record for touchdowns in a game.

The Crazy Canyon area lies at the base of Mount Sentinel near Pattie Canyon road it is a beautiful area to hike, bike, stroll, walk or ride horses. I took this picture on a stroll just off of the main trail head. It was a great day and the lighting was beautiful.

This water tower sits above the Fort Missoula on the west side of town.

Jennifer Bennedict(left) and Elise Cunningham compete in log rolling at Fort Missoula. The two are members of the UM Woodsman Team which competes in the Conclave on April 23-26.

Hey all,

Well today after I made the 8 hour journey home from Utah I went out to Fort Missoula to try to take a picture of the water tower. I saw some people log rolling in an artificial pond. This is a lot more interesting than a water tower so I met the UM Woodsman Team.  This is kind of cool for me, my father did this when he was young and growing up in northwest Montana I learned to love timber sports. This is something that I thought was really cool.

This photo is something I tried out, I like the way the light worked on this.

I like the way the stars and moon worked on this shot with the clouds moving in this long exposure.

Hey all,

Whats up. I love night time photography, it is more difficult but the challenge of working with long exposures make me want to try different things with the available light. I shot these right outside my apartment. The reflection off of the road from the first spring rain inspired me.

Hey all,

Well today’s picture comes from a story I’m working on. The Montana Lacrosse team moved up to Division I this year after winning the the Division II National Championship. The team is doing very well for their first year in the bigs. They have won five games in a row and are now in third place in their conference. These guys are not only a team but they live together, they party together, they are all friends. This is more than a team its a brotherhood.

The conference playoffs will be on May 3rd and 4th in Missoula.
